George Bousis

George Bousis is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Protagonist, where he co-leads the firm's investments. An entrepreneur first, he remains an active founder, continuing to build Raise while backing the next generation of founders.

In 2013, George founded Raise, the pioneer in digital gift cards, loyalty, and payments. As Founder, CEO, and Chairman, he has led the company to more than $5 billion in sales, helping consumers save over $400 million, while raising more than $275 million from investors including Accel, NEA, PayPal, Haun Ventures, and the Web3 Foundation. He is the author of more than 30 patents spanning payments, loyalty, and blockchain infrastructure.

Alongside building Raise, George has invested in more than 85 companies through his family office, 1 of a Kind Capital, across AI, infrastructure, fintech, healthcare, enterprise software, and consumer technology, including Ramp, Robinhood, Poppi, Kraken, SpaceX, Firefly, Triumph, and Lineage. That combination of building and investing led to the founding of Protagonist in 2022.

George has been recognized on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, named one of Goldman Sachs' Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs three times, recognized by Crain's Chicago Business as one of its 20 in Their 20s, and is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO).
